Checked out upcoming Chicago rapper, YP aka BackWood Jones‘ self-titled mixtape from a couple years back (2014). Much before this, he signed a deal with Universal/Republic Records in 2011, right before the mass signings of rappers such as Chief Keef, King Louie, etc.

So far he has opened for legends Q-Tip & Nas who gave him the co-sign for his talents. Ain’t that sick af? He has a skew of mixtapes released prior to this that I have yet to listen to, but I figure I’d hear his latest project first.
